Wanderlens is made by Aethel AI Inc. This policy explains what the app collects and why.
Photo analysis (identifying places from your photos) and journal writing feedback run on your device using Apple frameworks. Your photos and journal drafts are not sent to us for analysis.
When you sign in with Apple, we create an account identified by an anonymous Apple identifier — we do not receive your name or email unless you choose to share it. Journals and photos you post, your comments, likes and reports, the users you block, your star count, trips you sync, and locations you choose to share are stored on our servers so the app works across your devices. Our hosting providers (DigitalOcean, Neon and Cloudflare) store this data on our behalf.
Location is used only to find nearby places and to share a location when you explicitly create a share link. Shared-location coordinates are deleted when the link expires.
We show ads from Google AdMob in the community feed and when you choose to watch a rewarded ad. Google may use device identifiers to show and measure ads. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent with Google’s consent form, and you can change it any time in Settings → Privacy choices. Elsewhere, ads are personalized only if you allow tracking (App Tracking Transparency), which you can change any time in iOS Settings.
You can edit your username, delete your journals and trips, revoke shared locations, and block other users at any time inside the app.
Settings → Delete account permanently deletes your account and everything listed under “What we store”, removes your photos from our storage, and revokes Wanderlens’ access to your Apple ID. Data kept only on your device, such as unsynced trips, stays until you delete the app.
